Privacy policy

This English version is a courtesy translation: in the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails. This website deliberately keeps personal data to a minimum: there are no customer accounts, no advertising, and no cookies are set without your explicit consent. The only place where you send us any information is the contact form, and only if you choose to use it.

Data controller

LA BRASSERIE GRENETTE (SAS), which operates the restaurant Maestro — Bouillon Italien, 8 place Grenette, 38000 Grenoble. For any request about your data, please use the email address given in the “Info” section of the home page.

Data we collect

Simply browsing the website does not send us any personal data: there are no accounts, no upload areas, and pages are served as they are.

Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps technical connection logs (IP address, date, page requested, browser) to ensure the security and operation of the service. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the website available.

The contact form

The form in the “Fancy a Table?” section is the only place on the website where you send us information. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and submit it.

Purpose: to respond to your enquiry—a group booking, private hire, catering or simply a question. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), together with the explicit consent you give by ticking the box on the form.

Recipients: the restaurant, and our hosting provider Netlify, Inc., acting as a processor. Enquiries are stored on Netlify’s infrastructure in the United States. This transfer outside the European Union is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which Netlify incorporates into its terms of service.

No third-party captcha is used: protection against automated submissions relies on an invisible trap field and the hosting provider’s spam filter. Nothing is sent to Google.

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, if you choose to provide it
  • The subject of your enquiry
  • The content of your message
  • The language of the page you are writing from (French or English), so that we can reply in the same language

Analytics

If analytics is enabled, it uses Google Analytics 4 and is only loaded once you have explicitly accepted it through the banner provided for that purpose. Until you accept, no request is sent to Google and no analytics cookie is set.

Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. You can change it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Cookies

No advertising cookies, no social media trackers, no A/B testing. Only the analytics described above may set cookies, and only with your consent.

Third-party services

The buttons and links to TheFork, Instagram, Google Maps and Waze are plain links: nothing is loaded from these services unless you click on them. Once you are on their websites, their own policies apply.

The map in the “Info” section is drawn and served by us, using OpenStreetMap data. Nothing is loaded from a third-party service to display it.

Enquiries sent through the contact form are handled by Netlify, our hosting provider, under the conditions described above.

Retention periods

The hosting provider’s technical logs are kept for as long as necessary to keep the service secure. Analytics data, where collected, is kept for a maximum of 14 months.

Enquiries sent through the contact form are kept for as long as it takes to handle and follow up on them. The exact retention period is still being set; you can ask for your message to be erased at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act (“loi Informatique et Libertés”), you have the right of access to your data and the rights to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection. You can exercise these rights by writing to the email address given in the “Info” section.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority — 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07 — cnil.fr.
